Cross-language Text Retrieval with Three Languages Cross-language Text Retrieval with Three Languages
In cross-language text retrieval, query text objects in one language are matched against a collection of text objects in another. Previous work showed that a two-language cross-language text-retrieval system can be created completely automatically by a method called CL-LSI trained on an aligned corpus of text objects. In this paper, we look at the challenge of creating a three-language cross-la...
متن کاملRegular Languages in MAJ[>] with three variables
We consider first order logic over words and show FO + MOD[<] is contained in MAJ[<] with three variables. It is known that for the classes FO[<], FO + MOD[<], FO + GROUP[<] three variables suffice. In the case of MOD[<] even two variables are sufficient. As a consequence we know that if TC , NC then for every regular language describable in MAJ[<] three variables are sufficient.
متن کاملThree languages for fabric configuration
The highly automated configuration of large scale computing fabrics increasingly exploits declarative representations of the fabric’s intended state. We examine three languages for expressing these representations: LCFG, Pan and SmartFrog. We give examples of their use and examine which language properties are of particular relevance to the configuration of grid computing fabrics.
متن کاملComparing three semantics for Linda-like languages
A simple calculus based on generative communication is introduced; among its prim-itives, it contains a conditional input operation that tests for presence (or absence) of an output, reminiscent of the inp predicate of Linda. We study three diierent semantics for the output operation, called instantaneous, ordered and unordered, and we compare these approaches from two diierent points of view. ...
متن کاملThree languages of instruction in Fryslân
Three languages play an important role in the province of Fryslân: Frisian as the minority language spoken by a majority of the population, Dutch as the dominant language in society, and English as an increasingly important additional language. The position of Frisian as a language for teaching is marginal at all levels of education. Although it is an obligatory language for all primary schools...
